Stunning Results in a Single Visit

with Advanced CEREC Technology

Same-day crowns blend in beautifully with your smile and maintain the natural alignment of your bite. With this efficient treatment, you can enjoy restored dental function and an enhanced sense of self-confidence faster than ever before.

CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) technology uses digital impressions and computer-guided milling tools to perform work that would normally take a technician two weeks or longer to complete. In a single office visit to our Albuquerque, NM, office, a quick scan of your tooth will direct ultra-articulate hardware in crafting a cap that achieves a precise fit with your smile.

Why choose a dentist who crafts his own crowns rather than just using a lab?

Same-day Crowns Offer Several Benefits over Traditional Crowns

Quicker Treatment

Because traditional crowns are made at a dental lab, it can take several weeks to receive your final restoration. Same-day crowns can speed up your treatment timeline and spare you the hassle of returning to our office for a second appointment.

No Temporary Crown

Immediately after treatment, your smile will look great, feel comfortable, and function properly. Rather than having a temporary restoration and fitting a second visit into your busy life, you can leave the office ready to resume your normal schedule.

Preservation of Oral Health

CEREC® crowns can also protect your overall dental health. These restorations will be tailor-made using highly precise measurements. Once placed, the caps support the tooth so it can withstand the daily pressures of biting and chewing.

Reduced Pressure on the Jaw

Dr. Wall can make minute adjustments to even out the force along your dental arch. As an expert in neuromuscular dentistry, he can prevent undue pressure on your jaw and reduce your risk for TMJ disorder. This can improve your oral comfort.

Natural Appearance

CEREC® crowns are durable and natural-looking. The system uses medical-grade porcelain that has a natural sheen and sparkle. You will be in the office during the design process, so Dr. Wall can match the color of the porcelain to your natural teeth.

Is treatment really that simple?

A Restored Smile in Six Steps
The Treatment Process

Dr. Wall can complete the entire treatment process from the comfort of our Albuquerque, NM, office in just an hour or two.

Administer Anesthesia

For your comfort, we will administer local anesthesia so the entire process is as pain-free as possible.

Reshape the Tooth

Before placing a crown, Dr. Wall will reshape your tooth. He will remove damaged material and create a strong base for the restoration.

After your tooth has been treated, three-dimensional digital impressions will be taken. Dr. Wall will upload these images to the CEREC® system.

Using state-of-the-art CAD/CAM technology, Dr. Wall will make fine adjustments to design a custom crown that will blend seamlessly with your surrounding teeth. Dr. Wall will then upload the design into the CEREC® machine.

The CEREC® system works much like a 3-D printer. Usually in under an hour, your crown will be milled from a block of dental-grade porcelain chosen to match the color of surrounding teeth.

When your restoration is complete, we will check the fit of the crown. Once approved, the crown will be secured onto the tooth using dental cement.

The entire process is complete in a single office visit, making crown treatment more convenient than ever before.

Same-Day Crowns Have a High Long-Term Success Rate

Are there any special precautions I need to take after treatment?

Getting the Most from Your New Crown

During your consultation at our Albuquerque office, we can answer any questions or concerns you have about caring for your new crown. To prolong the life of your crown, you should:

  • Avoid chewing on hard objects or using your teeth as tools
  • Practice proper oral hygiene, including daily brushing and flossing
  • Attend six-month checkups
  • Wear a mouth guard while sleeping if you suffer from bruxism or temporomandibular (TMJ) disorder

What do the results look like?

How Are Crowns Used in Dental Bridge Treatment?

Support for Dental Bridge

Crowns are used in conjunction with a traditional dental bridge to replace missing teeth. In this treatment approach, crowns are placed on the adjacent teeth to hold the dental bridge in place.

Alternative to a Dental Bridge

As an alternative to a dental bridge, a single dental crown can be attached to a dental implant to replace a single missing tooth. This option is more expensive, but is better for your oral health.

Three Factors that Affect the Cost of Dental Crowns

Because of their larger size, dental crowns are typically more expensive than other restorative dentistry options like fillings, inlays, and onlays. However, because they cover a larger surface area, they are the best option if you suffer from extensive decay, damage, or cosmetic imperfections. The cost of your crown is determined by your unique needs:

Quality of Materials Chosen

There are many types of porcelain available, and more aesthetic, durable options will typically cost more than others.

Number of Teeth Treated

While some patients only need one dental crown to restore their smile, those with more extensive issues will need more extensive treatment.

Preparatory Treatments

If you have outstanding oral health issues like gum disease, you will need dental care to ensure your restoration has a stable foundation, which increases the final cost.

I need a dental crown, but how will I pay for it?
